Welp, unfortunately, has been found that the plate is different from the data connection is that an exchange of door ... Crap. I hate it when that happens. But all is not lost, because you can still have the VIN information Check-in at least one point. A quick thing to check is the title of the vehicle! Often you will see the chassis number on the title written somewhere you find be sure to look over the title from top to bottom. Note that this is not the case in all states ... but this could be yours, so sure to see.

Then it will be labeled a framework for the chassis number on the truck ... and everything you need to do is go get it! Where to look? At the top of the framerail passenger side ... and should be instead of writing on the seal, you can read this article (it is short and concise):

Yes ... even if it is a Ford 1978, is the poem in the same place, since Ford has not changed for at least the 1970s. My best advice is, make sure it has a stiff wire brush ... and why theoften it is cleaned really the year to remove accumulated dirt. In fact, you can spend directly on the VIN on a simple visual search, because it is so well hidden ... more or less buried under a layer of soil or a layer of greasy dust. If I were you, I also check this Yahoo group, since they all years of Ford trucks built before 1980 cover. They have a lot of knowledgeable people there and acute ... and are an incredible resource for people to answer questions or help with their trucks have
